When opened 90 degrees, the twenty-foot panel wall reveals a series of windows overlooking the serenely picturesque Deep River and providing the main tracking room with a mixture of acoustic diffusion and absorption. When flipped to the ‘right’ closed position, the biffusors are diffusive in the upper-mid and high frequencies while absorbing the lower frequencies. A series of rotating acoustic panels (biffusors) function as indoor shutters as well as a tool for adjusting room acoustics. The roughly 1,200 square foot studio has a relaxed, cozy feel to it, complete with a fireplace and minimalist kitchenette.
